When they meet in the 1930s, Doris and Tup’s love is immediate. They marry quickly and Doris commits to the only life Tup ever wanted: working the Senter family farm, where his parents and grandparents and great-grandparents are buried under the old pines. Their lives follow the calming rhythms of the land - chores in the cow barn, haying the fields, tending their gardens - and in this they find immeasurable joy.

About the artist: Elizabeth Benotti of Eliot, Maine, the artist behind these porcelain pieces was born and raised in Massachusetts before being called west to earn a BFA at the University of Colorado in Boulder. It was there that she took her first ceramics class. It didn’t take long to fall in love with the material, process and community this medium fosters. Upon graduation, She was accepted into the Resident Artists program at the Mendocino Art Center. In a small town nestled on the northern coast of California, she worked alongside a small group of dedicated artists and explored the relationships between everyday objects, color, image and form.

Erin French grew up in Freedom, Maine (population 719), helping her father at the griddle in his diner. An entirely self-taught cook who used cookbooks to form her culinary education, she founded her acclaimed restaurant, the Lost Kitchen, in the same town, creating meals that draws locals and visitors from around the world to a dining room that feels like an extension of her home. 
 
No one can bring small-town America to life better than a native, especially when it comes to Maine, one of the country’s most off-the-beaten-path states, with an abundant natural bounty that comes from its coastline, rivers, farms, fields, and woods—a cook’s dream. Inspired by her lush locale and classic American cooking, Erin crafts deliciously satisfying and easy-to-make recipes such as Whole-Roasted Trout with Parsnip and Herb Hash, Maine Shrimp Rolls, Ramp and Fiddlehead Fried Rice, and Rhubarb Spoon Cake.

We have spent years trying to create the best faux flower. Blomma (the Swedish word for Flower) comes in nine colors: Blue Grey, Hunter Green, Light Grey, Orange, Pea Green, Pink, Seafoam, Teal, and Yellow. Each felt pom pom is attached to an iron rod and stands about 7 inches tall. They look great in our pooley vases.
